Job Description:
Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for
the position of Experienced Maintenance I/E (Instrumentation &
Electrical & Analyzer) located in the El Segundo, California
Refinery through May 13th, at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time Zone).A
Refinery Instrument/Electrical/Analyzer Technician will perform a
variety of maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and construction
type of work in the field and shop settings of the refinery. -This
position works with other Maintenance crafts, Reliability,
Operations, and Technical groups daily. -As a 24/7 operating
refinery, working overtime, weekend, holiday, and odd shift work is
required.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not
limited to: -
- Performs troubleshooting, preventive, predictive, and
corrective maintenance activities on instrumentation, electrical,
and analyzer equipment -
- Disassembles, repairs, -assembles, -and installs
instrumentation, electrical, and analyzer equipment as required

- Works safely and effectively uses test equipment such as
multimeters, signal generators, and communicators -
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial instrumentation including
electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial analyzer equipment in
process and environmental services. - This includes gas
chromatographs, O2, CO, SO2, pH, and opacity analyzers.
- Ability to read drawings such as P&IDs wiring schematics
and vendor prints.
- Works in Process Plant, Shop, and Off-Plot environments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and has the
ability to plan and organize own work.
- Responsible for the safe and economic use of resources -

reduce costs--- -
- Ability to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving
skills to develop recommendations and solutions -
- Build positive working relationships with operators and other
crafts, both internally and externally to Chevron -
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
including Management, Technical, Operations, and Maintenance -
- Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices
and maintain a personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free
Operations -
- This position requires driving on a routine basis -Required
Qualifications: -
- High School Diploma or equivalent -
- Valid Driver's License.
- A minimum of 3 -years -experience -working as an instrument
technician, industrial electrician, or analyzer technician.
- A minimum of -3 -years -experience -in the petroleum
industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, or
analyzer systems component troubleshooting and repair.
- Must be able to use computers to enter work histories and
perform corporate compliance activities. -
- The position will typically work a 4x10 dayshift work schedule.
Typical shifts are Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through
Friday but can vary based on work needs. Occasional shifts and
weekend work will be required. -

- A minimum of 5 -years -experience -working as an
Instrumentation technician -and -a minimum of 5 years working as an
industrial electrician -in the refining or petrochemical industries
or -
- A minimum of 5 -years -experience -as an instrumentation
technician -and -a minimum of 5 -years experience -working as an
analyzer technician in the refining or petrochemical industries.

- Previous work experience in an industrial plant environment.

- Associates/Technical Degree or vocational school certificates
in Instrumentation, Analyzers, Engine Maintenance, Process
Technology, Automotive Technology, EEREC (Electrical/Electrical
Technology), Maintenance Engineer, Machine Tool Technology,
Manufacturing Technology, or Chemistry. -
- Ability to grasp complex issues and apply good problem-solving
skills to develop recommendations/solutions. -
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and take
initiative to address deficiencies and malfunctions of the
equipment in their assigned area. -
- Must have strong team and verbal and written communication
skills. -As part of the application process, you will be required
